Promoting active student engagement begins at the beginning of the school year. As educators get to know the learners present in their classes, they are also able to reflect the interests of these learners in the learning materials and curriculum presented to students. As the interests of students are acknowledged and explored, students are able to see themselves reflected in the classroom and become more willing to participate actively in the fun activities present in class.
